Mac vs PC: Trust Mac
In Apple’s commercial “Trust Mac” (2008), Apple asserts that
the Mac, with its new software, has nothing to hide from unlike the PC, which
struggles to keep detrimental viruses away. By portraying the PC as attempting
to hide undercover and the Mac living freely, Apple supports their claim and
shows that PCs are vulnerable while the Mac is strong as can be. Apple’s
purpose is to exhibit the susceptibility and vulnerability of PCs to viruses
that the new and improved Mac IOS 10 will simply not experience. Through the
commercial, Apple develops a trustworthy but open relationship with the
consumer, displaying the logical and emotional benefit of choosing Mac over PC.

The audience may not only be consumers; it can also be people who already have a Mac to show them that they made the right choice. It can also be anyone who has any computer and isn't looking for an upgrade, but the ad persuades them.
